Could the Discovery of Black Silicon Change Digital Photography?
In a New York Times article published yesterday, a Harvard physicist has produced a new material, called black silicon, that could have a broad impact on technologies ranging from ultra sensitive sensors to photovoltaic cells. According to the article, Harvard plans to announce on Monday that it has licensed patents for black silicon to SiOnyx, a Massachusetts company. The commercialization of Black Silicon is very near and is expected to first show up in night vision systems and hopefully in digital cameras soon after. Read More
